FRITZ KIRSCHSTEIN
vermoord in Sobibor

With great admiration

To all the Organizers of one of the most moving ceremonies I attended,

It is with great admiration and emotion that I wish to convey to all of you and others who help in the Stichting Herdenkingsstenen Amersfoort, my most sincere appreciation and thankfulness. Admiration because what you have all undertaken is proof of the basic goodness in humanity. People of all faiths coming together, honouring the victims of the worst crime in history and thus assuring that history will not be forgotten so that it will never be repeated again.

Emotion because despite the murder of my grandfather Fritz Kirschstein and of my grandmother Irma Kirschstein, I was able to place symbolic stones on the plaque honouring him, in name of three generations of my family. That there are Kirschsteins’ alive today, is the best vengeance against those who tried to exterminate us.

The whole day in Amersfoort was very moving. On behalf of all my family I thank you and all those involved with this project and wish all of you much success, good health and a wonderful life. You truly deserve to be in the Garden of the Righteous.
